At the top of the Walsall market, the old Royal Exchange pub was incorporated into an adjoining Salvation Army hostel and former leather works in 1995. It now forms the luxurious Lyndon House Hotel. The comfortable bar has a coal-effect fire, an island counter, cosy corners and plenty of exposed wood and brick giving it a traditional feel. With the dining room and outdoor terraces, it is unexpectedly spacious. Four cask beers are available on the bar including a changing beer, often from Holden's, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Greene King Abbot. Meals are served every lunchtime and evening, except on Sundays when there is a lunchtime carvery. Lunchtime hot club sandwiches are good value. Karaoke provides entertainment on Sunday evenings.
