See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Traditional community pub with unusual external architecture. Steep Mansard roof covering first floor with dormer windows. The interior is one large crescent shaped room with the bar in the middle and two lounge areas either side. Two real fires, one in the bar and one in the left lounge. Dartboard and large TV in the right lounge. There is a garden patio area at the front of the pub and a larger garden area behind the pub with picnic tables and an enclosed children's play area. Good sized car park at rear.

Plans by A & T Bertram Butler to rebuild the pub behind the original premises to allow road widening were approved in June 1939. However due to the war the premises were not built until the 1950’s to a slightly amended plan and consisted of a public bar to the centre and a lounge either side with children’s room to the rear. The pub was altered in 1982 when all the rooms at the front were knocked into one large crescent shaped room, the children’s room at the back was converted into a wash up area and extension for a kitchen was built.
