An old beerhouse built in the 19th century its internal layout was altered in 1969 when private rooms were taken in to the public rooms. The pub has a public bar and a lounge to the rear separated by the bar servery. After a period of closure when its future was uncertain it was refurbished and reopened to serve its local community and visitors alike.
