Built around 1780 this Grade II-listed former coaching inn is popular with locals, boaters, ramblers and cyclists, it being close to the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal and Smestow Valley Nature Reserve. It comprises a lively bar with local banter, a games room and a more sedate snug. Quizzes are held on Tuesdays and a darts team plays on Wednesdays. It hosts charity dog shows, and weekly, the local pigeon flyers club. A sympathetic refurbishment was carried out in 2016.
