See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
On the edge of Penn Common and sharing an access driveway with Penn Golf Club, this charming inn is worth seeking out. Built around 1630 and extended in the 1990's, it has a very low front door, low-beamed ceilings and steps leading down into the drinking and dining areas.
The compact single bar has a display of drip mats and foreign banknotes pinned to the ceiling, and serves a selection of four quality real ales. The pub is rightly renowned for its locally sourced steaks. Breakfasts available 9am-11am Friday, Saturday and Sunday (bar opens 12pm).
Marquee with outdoor seating. Good sized garden with picnic tables overlooking farm land.
Spring and Autumn beer festivals, check Facebook page for details.
