In the Guide now for 24 years, this Grade II 17th century, timber framed free house now has nine handpulls, and real cider from the cellar. It has won the local CAMRA Pub of the Year award numerous times, and top marks from Cask Marque inspections.
It is family run and community oriented. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff are recruited from the local area. It is very popular for its good value lunchtime meals (now including specials), served daily until 2pm but not Sunday.
There is a large car park, an outside garden area and a sunny walled patio area off the lounge. A friendly local supporting darts and domino teams. There are no gaming machines, only good conversation and convivial company.
CAMRA Telford & East Shropshire branch Pub Of The Year 2018.
