16th century timber framed building purchased by Black Country Ales in February 2024. A major refurbishment was done before re-opening in March 2025. There are 12 handpulls, including two ciders which may sometimes be real. A new ground floor cellar has been constructed in the alley, formally the stable entrance and door. The internal space has been much extended from the previous layout by incorporating the downstairs private areas, kitchen and toilets into the main body of the pub. Toilets have been relocated near the new side entrance and now include disabled access. While much of the seating area is open plan, this is nevertheless split into smaller discreet areas. There is also a virtually separate room on the front left hand side together with the original dartboard in its original place paying homage to the previous layout. Outside, there are three drinking areas. In the 1950's locals recall the last major refurbishment added the fireplace and chimney on the wall by the stable door, making a total of two. This new refurbishment has added a third onto the wall of the back room. All in all, another chapter in this much loved establishment has begun. The lunchtime menu has greatly expanded with baked potatoes, ploughman's lunch, and hot pasties.
