Former Watneys pub, renamed from George & Dragon in summer of 1996. Extended and improved, major redecoration completed November 2001. Has a modern light and trendy feel to it. Popular with drinkers and diners, offering friendly and comfortable surroundings for good value meals and regular guest ales. One long room but with separate restaurant at one end and bar at the other. The dining area is l shaped from adjacent South of the bar counter. There are several high tables to sit at opposite the bar, and at the North end several low level tables and chairs in a sort of snug area. Tables and chairs outside to the front of the pub also. And two doors from the bar areas and dining to the Beer garden, toilets, and small shop. Adjacent campsite and plenty of parking space. West facing canal side beer garden is perfect for watching summer sunsets. Great example of a pub diversifying with on site shop, Hair Salon, Nail bar and launderette aimed mainly at canal trade but open to all. The pub also has four letting rooms.
