Friendly, two-roomed local just outside the town centre, built during the 1830's, with a basic bar and more comfortable lounge. TV in the lounge, dartboard in the bar; the guest beers change every week, and will come from the more well known breweries, the pump clip collection in the lounge being the legacy of a previous licensee. The local CAMRA branch held it's inaugural meeting here in summer 1974; the pub was presented with an award to celebrate the branch's 40th anniversary. Live entertainment is provided every other Saturday night.
