16th century, Grade II*-listed timber-framed hotel reopened April 2019 after substantial refurbishment both inside and out. Its substantial oak timbers and flagstone floors in the main lounge give a sense of its age and history. Now known as the Indigo Hotel, it has 93 bedrooms, the Woodsman restaurant which is praised for its venison dishes, and a garden. The bar serves two Hook Norton cask beers on handpump. Opposite the hotel is the site of New Place, Shakespeare's last home. Could the Bard have used this old inn as his local?
