Now a public house open to all, the premises used to be the Royal British Legion but has been transformed to a family-run venue appealing to all,both young and old. The pub is housed in a medieval "Cruck" house with structural timbers dated as being from the late 14th Century, and a history of the building is posted outside on the street (see photograph). The cafe is open from 10am until 4.30pm (Fridays - Mondays) while the bar is licensed from 1200. There is a very large sheltered beer garden at the rear. Full meal service stops at 1630, but cobs and bar snacks are available after. There is a DJ or live music every Saturday and Sunday (see website for details), Bingo on Fridays and a quiz every fortnight on Sundays. The folk club meets on alternate Tuesday evenings.
