Previously a cinema, this Lloyds No. 1 pub underwent refurbishment in June 2019 and is named after a local motorcycle manufacturer. Historic local photographs of the town and information on some of its famous residents adorns the walls, including fictional investigative journalist Kevin Turvey (Rik Mayall) and Victorian boxer Tom Paddock. Look out also for a full scale bike mounted on the walls at the rear. The square bar offers up to eight real ales including a guest cider. The large open-plan pub offers coffee table-styled seating at the front of the pub, while to the rear are a number of booths and tables (removed on Friday and Saturday evenings to create a dance floor). International sports are sometimes shown on a large cinema-style screen. Outside, there is a small seating area at the front, while the rear offers a large balcony-style beer garden with an access lift and a smaller sub-section is set aside for non-smokers. The pub is conveniently located near the bus and train stations and there is a taxi rank across the road.
