This cosy three roomed pub has become a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide, its quality beer served by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, it has won a string of CAMRA awards and holds two extremely popular beer festivals a year. What started life as a private members club adjacent to the Alvechurch Marina is now a thriving community asset that serves good home-cooked food (Monday is seasonal so please check with the pub but not Tue & Wed), including an excellent Sunday lunch. Bridge 60 is a unique pale ale from Woodcote Brewery alongside 4 changing beers all locally sourced, as well as real ciders and a craft ales. During the summer months local bands can be heard in garden. As well as Folk and Blues nights in the pub all year round. There is historic interest; The building built alongside construction of the Birmingham to Worcester canal in the early 1800's was once the old weighbridge office for offloading coal barges to horse and cart for local deliveries, the cellar is where the original weighbridge was sited. Licensed in the early 70's and a freehouse since 2002 there have been only 2 licensees in 20+ years. Chris and his team took over 2 years ago. It helps the local community, there are 2 knitting circles, a motorcycle club, Amateur Dramatics Club, Book Club were you can exchange books or just sit down in a quiet corner and read while enjoying a pint. As well as their main menu, which changes regularly, there are special menu’s for special events
