See more about this pub on CAMRA's national web site

A three roomed pub with a lot of history, it was mentioned in the Doomsday book. In fact there were holding cells underneath the pub where prisoners were held before being hanged at the crossroads outside or dropped into the well which is still a feature in the lounge. There is a large public bar with low beams and raised snug area. A deep well by the bar is a feature of the lounge, It has stone floors and is dog friendly. The pub regularly hosts charity events (quizzes etc.) and has active darts teams (male and female). There is live music every Fri & Sat and there are four letting rooms available.
