Named after the famous war poet, who was born just outside Oswestry (near Stonehouse Brewery) in 1893. The pub is in what was Oswestry's Royal Mail sorting office and was opened in April 2003. Not the most characterful of buildings, but the usual Wetherspoon offering is there; a good range of well kept, reasonably priced ale, (including craft) comfortable surroundings and a central location. It is also popular with diners. The busy atmosphere sometimes causes queues at the bar, but the staff manage to maintain the feel of a friendly, market town pub. Opens at 8am for breakfast
