The Three Tuns has a special place in pub history as it is one of only four pubs in the country where brewing was taking place on-site in the 70's and continues to do so. The brewery itself is a historic tower plant which used to be in the same ownership as the pub and dates back to the 1640's. The brewery became a separate enterprise in 2003. There has been a process of updating the pub over the years, but it has been done sympathetically as befitting a listed building, and it undoubtedly still has that special feel about it. There are four rooms, each serving a different purpose, and each with its own ambience. The little front bar has a traditional air, the main bar has windows facing the brewery, thus making it a much lighter room. The Snug Bar has a low ceiling, wood burning stove, easy chairs and a range of games. And finally, a more recent addition is the Conservatory Bar and Dining Room.
