See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Re-opened in July 2012, this is a welcome return to the village of a roadside country pub that had been closed for five years. Complete re-building and extending has returned the premises to a destination dining venue. There are two lounge bar areas, a dining area and a consevatory. Sourcing good local food is a clear policy of the management. It is advisable to book for food on Sunday. Restored in keeping with the feel of a traditional country pub, old furniture is complemented by antique mirrors and old books. Local railway history is also featured. To the side is a carpaprk and at the rear is a garden. The real ales are usualyy from Shropshire or North Wales breweries though sometimes offerings from further afield are sold. There are three letting rooms for those that wish to stay to enjoy the North Shropshire Lake District and the nearby National Nature Reserve.
The bus service is very limited.
