The Horseshoes is very much the village pub and seems to have prospered since coming under the management of Darwin Inns who lease it from Admiral Taverns. Although it is essentially one room, it doesn’t seem to be that way as it is arranged into three separate areas. There is a bar with a real fire, lounge and a dining area, with carpeting, a number of high-backed chairs. Thus the whole thing gives a comfortable and cosy feel. In addition there is a piano, juke box and discreet piped music. The "bell box" on the wall in the lounge from the days when the pubs was an inn is noteworthy. It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
