There are splendid views of the Shropshire hills from the rather nice terrace at the front of this pub situated in an attractive village down some country lanes from the A49. And, although the location is most definitely rural, it is only some 8 miles from Shrewsbury town centre. The Fox is a local success story in that around 2000 the previous owner wanted to convert it into a private dwelling. Fortunately, local support and enthusiastic landlords condemned the proposal to failure and it is now a fully functional village local. There's a small bar at the entrance, giving way to a comfortable lounge to the right, and a dining room to the left giving access to those views. Reopened in December 2025 under community ownership. Food should be available from late January 2026. It may close earlier than the times stated depending upon custom. Further details and updates will be added as and when received. A full survey by the local CAMRA branch has yet to be undertaken. It looks like it has hit the ground running as they sold 16 casks of beer in their first 14 days of opening.
