Burlton Inn

See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Refurbished and re-opened in November 2014, the Burlton has been imaginatively and elegantly transformed from being dining led into a "pub with a restaurant". The light coloured pub furniture gives the place a fresh feel, and creates an atmosphere of cosy intimacy. There are a number of odd corners and bolt-holes where you can hide away if need be - one of them called "Mrs Pugh's Parlour" after a previous long-serving landlady. This also doubles as a small meeting room - but with no doors. The accommodation units, two storey motel style, are located on the far side of the car park. A super location to explore the Shropshire lake district a few miles to the northwest, or Shrewsbury to the south. It is one of only two Robinsons pubs in Shropshire, and was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery when it was the Cross Keys.
