Town centre hotel. There is a comfortable lounge to the right of the entrance with three small rooms and a restaurant to the left and another bar to the rear. Part of the lounge bar wall is an unusual glazed curved panel which originally came from Chirk castle. Close to the Wharf on the Llangollen Canal, and about half a mile from the nearest of the Ellesmere meres. Extensive menu for lunch and dinner including vegetarian and gluten-free options. There are five handpumps, three in the front bar and two in the rear. although they are not all in use. When visited on 13/7/25, only Salopian Oracle was on and that was served from an unbadged handpump. At the rear is a large outdoor drinking area some of which takes up the former carpark.
