See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Situated just off the town's main square, this popular free house specialises in its variety of ales and ciders from Shropshire and Herefordshire. 6 ales and 7 Ciders/Perries can be available at any one time. Also a good range of bottled Belgian Beers is stocked. Whilst the Benbow's main bar is basically a comfortable single L-shaped area, there is a small separate room to the rear. Children are not permitted in the pub. The Admiral in the pub's name was a 17th century admiral who attained both fame and public notoriety, and who was born in Shrewsbury. Most of the guest beers are from Shropshire breweries, but there is often one from further afield.
