Situated just off the town's main square, this popular free house specialises in its variety of ales and ciders from Shropshire and around the UK. 6 ales and 7 Ciders/Perries can be available at any one time. Also a good range of draft and bottled continental beers is stocked. Whilst the Benbow's main bar is basically a comfortable single L-shaped area, there is a small separate room to the rear which can be hired for functions Children are not permitted in the pub or garden. The guest beers are often from a fairly local brewery, but can be from further afield. Note that dogs are allowed in the garden, but not in the pub itself.
