Very close to the town centre and a short walk from the station, the pub is a busy free house owned and run by some of its locals. Music is very much the theme with an extensive juke box collection of classic numbers, and it's common for spontaneous dancing and singing to add to the friendly and lively atmosphere. It has active darts and dominoes teams, a large single lounge bar with pool table and an outside area with bench tables. Two or three reasonably priced real ales from local, regional and national breweries along with cobs are available. Level access through the side gate on request (otherwise kept locked) and level throughout. No adapted WCs.
