See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A multi-roomed busy pub at the top end of town, close to the main street and car parks, and well worth seeking out. Inside, the main bar has a wooden floor and a traditional dark wood counter with three hand-pulls, usually dispensing two regular beers. The adjacent lounge has been attractively refurbished in light wood paneling, on the way to the back and the pool room is a small snug decorated with old signs. The attractive courtyard, with its many flowers during summer, is a fine place to relax and next to it is a cosy shelter within a very old outbuilding. The pub offers crib, dominoes, pool and TV sports, showing all regular Premier League football matches. There are rooms available used by visitors, fishermen and walkers and free Wi-Fi. Originally built as a private residence, it changed to a public house in 1840, and in 2016, upon becoming a freehouse, the pub and accommodation was refurbished to create a comfortable and quirky town pub. Good value bar snacks including tasty pies from the local Wyre Pie Company, sausage rolls, and scotch eggs are available.
