A comfortable pub named after a thirteenth-century bishop of Worcester. Split into three cosy drinking areas, a large settle from the 1700s one end and imposing inglenook fireplace the other. Serves traditional but inventive food using local ingredients where possible. Lighter meals often available outside restaurant hours. Events include a paella party in the attractive walled garden (June). May open all day summer weekends. Closed all day Mondays except bank holidays, and may do mid-week lunchtimes in winter. Serves local beers in lined glasses including 1/3 pint glasses and gives a 'parish discount' to local residents.
