Imposing, three-storey, Grade II listed, welcoming village local, thought to be a former coaching inn and dating back to the early 1700s. Newly refurbished, the comfortable main bar area is split into three distinct cosy sections, and there is a separate lounge / dining room to one side.
Steak night Monday; curry night Wednesday (with drink @ £7.95); two main meals plus bottle of wine @ £25 on Thursday; free drink with fish dish Friday; traditional Sunday lunchtime roasts.
Monthly live musical entertainment (check website for details). Marston's Community Pub of the Year 2010. Well-behaved dogs welcome except in dining room.
The Trent & Mersey Canal runs along the edge of the village, about 300yds distant, and the National Memorial Arboretum is located a mile to the east.
