Popular privately-owned late 19th-century free house, overlooking the Dove valley and with a fine view of Tutbury Castle along Burton Street. The two split-level rooms, public bar and lounge, have a homely feel and are served from a similarly split-level bar. There is a separate large dining room to the rear.
Standard menu includes full meals, pizzas and bar snacks; traditional roasts Sunday lunchtime; occasional themed food nights.
This is the only pub in the area which has remained loyal to Draught Burton Ale since its launch by Ind Coope (in Burton) in 1976 through to its 2015 reincarnation by Burton Bridge.
