Former 18th-century coaching inn; the pub name 'Cricketts' means 'wooded copse', and is not derived from the game or insect. An attractive frontage with pale painted brickwork, and hanging baskets in summer, masks late 20th-century additions at the rear.

Inside, there is a smart open-plan bar/lounge area, but with a few secluded corners ("snugs"), plus a two-part restaurant beyond. An enclosed beer garden, with patio, lawn and children's play area is behind the pub, and a small field above the car park is occasionally used for events.
