See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Large, attractive, two-storey building with bay windows on first floor, located close to the town centre. Renamed several times over the last ~20 years, its current name and logo are derived from L.S.Lowry's 1961 painting "Level crossing, Burton-on-Trent", which features the pub. After struggling for many years and suffering intermittent closure, the pub was revived in 2015 by an experienced Derby-based licensee but has recently (September 2023) changed operator.
Comfortably furnished throughout, there is a L-shaped bar area at the front, and a dining area to the rear which overlooks the garden. The dining area includes a small, more luxurious, raised section, partly partitioned from the remainder. Fairly adventurous menu, ranging from snacks to full meals; steak night Wednesday.
Quiz night Monday; karaoke night Thursday.
