See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
An unspoilt example of a 19th century canalside pub. Built around 1830 on the Shropshire Union Canal, England's last narrow trunk canal. It has been run by the same family since 1870. The right-hand room has a quarry-tile floor, two high-back settles, window bench and scrubbed tables which create a timeless atmosphere. In winter the pub only opens 7pm-11pm Fri-Sat; 12-3 Sun. It is always advisable to check if travelling any distance. There is a stepped entrance to the pub but a wheelchair access ramp is available. Entrance to the bars is on the level. Toilets are outside and access is on the level. An e-canal map app shows this pub as closed - it isn't.
