The pub claims to have origins as far back as 1190 and is reputed to be the 2nd oldest inn to be granted a licence.The oldest part of the existing building retains a thatched roof and probably dates from the early 17th century. With extensions and alterations over the centuries there are three distinct areas, a bar area, dining room and snug. The pub is small and crowded so access for wheelchairs or pushchairs may be difficult. Brunch is served 9am to noon Sat & Sun.
