August 2017 has seen the welcome re-opening of one of Oswestry’s iconic old Taverns. A Grade ll listed building, originally a house erected c1600, the Black Gate was closed by the Victorian Temperance movement and became tearooms until the 1960’s The beers on offer are likely to be from Lees or the Copper Town brewery. We understand that the pub is now offering food, and we await further details on this.

After a long period of closure converted to a patisserie.
