2021 Great British Beer Festival - Winter
As you will be aware, the Great British Beer Festival-Winter 2021 is due to take place in the region, at the New Bingley Hall in Birmingham, in February next year. Unfortunately with the current pandemic crisis going on, all beer festivals are currently on hold, and GBBF-W is no exception.
A small team from the previous organising committee, along with some support personnel from central office, are meeting regularly to plan what we can aim to achieve should the situation ease enough for the event to take place, as we all hope it can. This has included looking at the marketing of the event, what commercial opportunities would be available, and a look at the various measures we may be expected to take. There is no doubt that the festival will be very different to those before it, we literally have a blank canvas to now work on. Obviously the situation is constantly changing, along with the guidelines and regulations coming from the Government. We are working closely with the national Events Committee to ensure that we are up to date with these requirements and are ready to put the previous planning into action as soon as we get the go ahead to continue.
There is still a possibility that the event will not be able to carry on in its current form, and we are looking at our other options, including a virtual event or a series of pub trails. The team see promotion of pubs and breweries within the region as a major campaigning priority and the festival will have this aim at the heart of our endeavours, regardless of how the plans evolve.
In this constantly changing situation, updates will be posted here when available. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions about the event.
